Pink Bubbly was created because we saw a gap in the market for a good quality going out site, that didn't just focus on children's events but also things to do for families and adults.
We are fanatical about county shows, eating out, country pubs, horse racing.... in nutshell we like getting out and about with family and friends. However, we found it difficult to find out about things that were going on and we thought if we were finding it difficult other people must be too. And so we launched Pink Bubbly, to make it easy for people to find great events and fabulous places to visit for children, families and adults. What's Behind the Name? When we were setting up the website we went through scores of ideas for names. The good names relevant to what we do had either already be taken or had been bought by those companies who then try and charge you a fortune to buy them off them! Other names that were suggested to us didn't cover sufficiently what we do, either relating to days out (which suggests one day out when we also offer information on eating out, pubs and hotels etc) or children's things to do when the whole point of the website is to provide information for things to do with children, but also suggestions for families, and adults going out without children. We decided we had to choose a completely different name for the website that wasn't necessarily related to what's on - after all, once upon a time you wouldn't have thought of flights when somebody said Virgin, or the Internet when you mentioned Google, or printers when somebody said Cannon! Eventually, we came up with the name Pink Bubbly. When you think of pink bubbly you probably associate it with fun and quality, and hopefully visitors to our website will think we offer exactly that! There are plenty of places to find out about local events such as fetes and antique fairs but it is more difficult to find out about the numerous larger events that take place throughout the South East. Pink Bubbly's What's On section only lists medium-large events, events with a difference and quality events, that visitors would be prepared to travel that little further for to have a great day out. There are certain times of year when many people are looking for the same thing, whether that is Bank Holiday events, school holiday activities, open air concerts, firework displays or Christmas activities. To cater for these seasonal events we have two sections dedicated to listing information specific to certain times of the year so visitors to Pink Bubbly can find information quickly. Over the years we have collected guide books on pubs and hotels, and have often been thoroughly disappointed on arrival at what was given a magnificent write up, for the reality to be very different. Pink Bubbly gives you a selection of great pubs, whether because of their location, quality of food, atmosphere, or whatever reason it may be that makes a good pub. Likewise, we list good pub accommodation, and luxury hotels in which to stay. Our Eating Out section is broken down so you can choose somewhere to go for a great Sunday lunch, breakfast, afternoon tea, more formal restaurants or pubs offering food. Children's / Family Days Out / Animals We constantly find it difficult to find good days out with children, particularly teenagers, without spending hours searching on the Internet - and even then we often find nothing. Pink Bubbly finds these places for you, so you don't have to spend hours searching. There are many great places and events where to take children, sometimes these places are a distance away but they are worth the journey. We try not to just list the obvious ones such as the well known theme parks but also more obscure ideas such zorbing, treasure hunts, chocolate making and many other ideas. Adult Days Out / Something Different There are many websites targeting days out for children but few that give good information for days out for adults, and when you consider that only 23% of days out are taken with children, this is a a large part of the market being missed out! While many of Pink Bubbly's categories list ideas suitable for adults, as well as families and children, we have a section dedicated to ideas for adults as well so you don't have to wade through the children's activities to get to something more suitable. Likewise, our What's On section lists events suitable for adults and/or children. Above are just some of the sections available to you on this website.
