Pub Restaurants in Berkshire

The Greene Oak, Oakley Green, Windsor, Berkshire, 01753 864 294

Contemporary pub and restaurant set in a relaxing rural location, the Greene Oak serves good food of British and modern European dishes, with a few twists, as well as traditional roast lunches on a Sunday. The warm, elegant interior has antique furniture and a mixture of slate and wooden floors. During the summer months, visitors can eat al fresco in the extensive outdoor seating area.

Classic French cuisine, a beautiful setting beside the River Thames, elegant surroundings and impeccable service, all go to make this three Michelin Star restaurant owned by Michel and Alain Roux an absolute treat.  In the summer take coffee in one of the summer houses overlooking the Thames.  Stay overnight in one of the bedrooms, suites or apartment, or moor along side the restaurant on the private pontoon.  

The Crab a Chieveley, Chieveley, 01635 247550

The Crab at Chieveley is a hotel and restaurant with 14 individually decorated rooms, all named after famous hotels around the world including, Sandy Lane, Raffles and Gleneagles.  Some rooms have their own private hot tub. The restaurant specializes in fresh seafood and you can eat in the restaurant, fish bar or lounge. There is also a cosy bar, and the whole place has a warm, lively atmosphere, with nautical decor.

Forbury's is a contemporary bar and restaurant  located in Reading within a central square of a  modern development, opposite Forbury Gardens.  Choose from the French bistro or a la carte menu.  The  interior is modern with brown leather seating, wooden floors and floor to ceiling windows.

The Michelin Star L'Ortolan is a French fine dining restaurant housed in a  17th Century converted vicarage, in Shinfield.  As well as dining in the restaurant, there are also opportunities to dine at the "Chef's Table", where menus and wine lists are discarded and a selection of Chef's dishes are served whilst you watch them being prepared.

Hind's Head Hotel, Bray, 01628 626151

A local village pub dating back 400 years and owned by Heston Blumenthal.  Traditionally decorated with old oak panelling, beams, fireplaces and classic leather chairs.  The 2 AA Rosette award winning restaurant serves traditional British cuisine with some historical dishes.   

The Royal Oak, Paley Street, 01628 620541

The Royal Oak is a contemporary pub and restaurant with traditional character.  Welcoming diners and drinkers alike, the bar is cosy and inviting with wooden furniture and the restaurant has been awarded an AA Rosette for the quality of its food.  As you would expect from a pub owned by Michael Parkinson, and run by his son Nick, a lot of photographs of the stars adorn the walls.

Belvedere Arms, Sunninghill, 01344 870931

Located on the edge of Windsor Great Park, the Belvedere is an ideal stopping off point during a walk.  Big contemporary pub and restaurant with leather seating, log burning fires and teak tables.  The pub has two restaurant areas and a seating area in the centre of the pub.  Food is simple but good with pizza, steak and fish and chips on the menu.  During the summer months visitors can sit at the front of the pub beside the stream.

Charming country pub housed in a grade II listed building overlooking the River Thames, with traditional features including a solid wooden bar and furniture, combined with a relaxed dining experience.  Sit outside and enjoy the riverside views or eat in the main dining room choosing from a good menu of various dishes to tantalise the taste buds.
