The Best Country Pubs in Berkshire

The Crown & Garter, Inkpen, 01488 668325

Tucked away in Berkshire countryside, ideal for those like to have a walk before their drink, is this  17th century inn with much history.  The old bar with its inglenook fireplace, wooden floors and criss-crossed beams adds much to the charm of this pub.  Eat in the bar, restaurant or the nice garden.  Eight bedrooms on one level overlook the garden.

The Bell Inn, Aldworth, 01635 578272

Very old, very traditional pub, dating back to the 14th century, with basic old wooden furniture and men's toilet situated outside the pub.  This unspoilt country pub has been run by the same people for over 30 years and the only food to speak of is simple, such as crusty filled rolls.  A large garden overlooks the village cricket green.
