Traditional Country pub in the rural setting of the pretty village of Longstock, in the heart of the glorious Test Valley.
The Victorian gabled pub has cosy bar and restaurant areas that are chock-a-block with cane fly rods, mounted trout, reels, gilt framed mirrors, period shooting and fishing prints, old books and games.
Whilst food is key in this pub, drinking is as well, and A ‘locals bar’ has been created to encourage a village atmosphere.
Good English food is served, and a sample menu giving an indication of some of their favourite dishes that varies according to seasonal produce. Traditional roast lunch is served on Sundays.
When the weather is warmer there is courtyard at the back of the pub.
Stylish en-suite double rooms are situated in the main house and in the old peat house at the rear of the building. There is also a communal lounge for residents with an open fire, reading books and games.
The Test Valley nestles between the historic cities of Winchester and Salisbury, with the New Forest to the south. The area is characterised by wonderful countryside, picture postcard villages and the River Test famous for being the fly fishing capital of the world.
