The Five Horseshoes, Maidensgrove, nr Henley-on-Thames, 01494 641282

Country pub in rural location with stunning views over Oxfordshire countryside.  Two large garden seating areas make the most of the views and barbeques and hog roasts take place during the summer.  Two snug bar areas with a wood burning stove and good pub food served in restaurant with wall to ceiling glass windows looking out at the views.  Nice walks, and dogs are welcome in the bar and garden.

The Crooked Billett, Stoke Row, Henley, Oxfordshire, 01491 681048

Tucked away at the end of a single track lane, this is a very rustic pub with huge character due to the unspoilt nature of the place.  There is no bar and beer is drawn directly from casks in the cellar.  Low beams, titled floors and open fireplaces all remain from years gone by, with empty bottles lining the walls and book shelves. The pub has a good reputation for food, particularly its Sunday lunches.

The Swan, Swinbrook, 01993 823339

Stylish pub housed in a 15th century building that used to be a watermill.  Located in a rural village setting beside the River Windrush, this old building is now a stylish pub divided into three small rooms, with a conservatory thoroughly in-keeping with the attractiveness of the old pub, with big wooden beams.  A smart country pub with dining areas and a small bar area with wooden bar.  Outdoor seating to the front of the pub and in the garden at the back.
The Lamb Inn, Burford, Oxfordshire, 01993 823 155

Located in the beautiful area of Burford in the Cotswolds, the charming 15th century building of the Lamb Inn oozes traditional country inn style with its wisteria-clad walls, mullioned windows and walled cottage garden. The stone flagged floors of the bar and the warming log fire entice both hotel guests and locals alike, while in the summer months visitors can also enjoy a drink in the courtyard garden.  The Restaurant has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes serving modern English cuisine, and visitors can dine alfresco during the summer months.  Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea in the lounge or in the gardens.  There is also 3 AA Star accommodation.

The King's Arms Hotel, Woodstock, Oxfordshire, 01993 813636

Boutique style bar, restaurant and rooms in centre of the attractive village of Woodstock, a stone throw away from Blenheim Palace.  The busy bar has a real buzz about it and is frequented by a mixture of age groups.  A modern pub has wooden tables and chairs and a large bar that stretches the length of the drinking area.  This is definitely a drinking pub.  Of a morning locals pop into the pub to read the paper and enjoy a coffee or breakfast.  The restaurant serves lovely food, and large portions, in a classy enviornment with black and white stone floors, open fireplace and darker wooden furniture.  Such is the quality of the food it has been awarded an AA Rosette. The bedrooms are very nice.  The Kings Arms is a nice allrounder with particularly nice staff.
