Buxted Park Hotel
Dating back to 1722, this magnificent Georgian Palladian mansion is set in 312 acres of superb parkland roamed by fallow deer and traversed by the River Uck.
The very fabric of the building radiates warmth and comfort with large airy rooms, ornamental carvings, leather sofas and rich brocades. Far from being intimidated by the House’s stately grandeur, there is a feeling of warmth and relaxation.
Buxted Park is a food destination, as well as being a wonderful hotel. The hotel has a well supported dining club and a wide variety of events and dining experiences to suit the most ardent foodies. The Pudding Society luncheon is a must for lovers of the great British pudding and is served every Sunday. The monthly wine & gourmet evenings provide guests with an unrivalled opportunity to enjoy exceptional food, whilst exploring wines from all across the globe. The musical evenings offer a different dining dimension altogether, combining wonderful food with great entertainment, from Mozart to Elvis Presley. Please click onto their website and look under “Events” for more details.
“The Dining Room” at Buxted Park is a stylish contemporary restaurant. It offers diners a very private intimate feel, whilst still retaining a wonderful atmosphere. The warm grape tones, contrasted with beautiful dark woods and clever use of high backed curved seating and banquette couches, has created a dining room, where one can almost be “in cognito” while still taking in the wonderful ambience, enjoying exemplary cuisine and service.
Every Sunday, Buxted Park holds its famous Pudding Society Luncheons. This is a traditional three course roast Sunday Lunch, followed by an all you can eat pudding buffet, served with lashings of custard and cream. A must for aficionados and fans of the great British Pudding.
The Crystal Bar is a beautifully stylish room, where magnificent period features, have been seamlessly married with modern style. At the centre of the room is a spectacular two metre diameter 18 th century lead crystal chandelier.
Guests are invited to explore the formal gardens and surroundings. There are always welly boots at the front door and there are mountain bikes and maps to help visitors find their way around. Other activities include croquet lawns, three fully stocked private fishing lakes, small gym, cinema, bicycle hire and a games room with darts and snooker.
Traditional afternoon teas are served daily, but need to booked 24 hours in advance.
